A Study of J.-J. Rousseau's Economic Reflections from the Viewpoint of "Economie Sociale"

神奈川県茅ヶ崎市The aim of this paper is to discuss a new viewpoint of J.-J. Rousseau's economic work in regards to current 'Economie Sociale' (Cooperative Economy) studies which are producing a new branch of modern economics research in our time. I will compare Rousseau's works with articles of "Economie Sociale" by pointing out three aspects as follows. 1. I have an attempt to find characteristics of Rousseau's economic reflections in "Discours sur L'economie politique", `La Nouvelle Heloise', "Emile", "Projet de Constitution pour la Corse", "Reveries du promeur Solitaire" etc. 2. Second, I try to discover features of "Economie Sociale" 's research. 3. Third, I examine and compare characteristics with features mentioned above. After a discussion of these works, I conclude that Rousseau's economics intends to work for common benefit or non - profit economy, not for private interest or profit economy, and that"Economie Sociale"'s ideology and Rousseau's economics have similarities, which may create a new position for Rousseau's economic work in the present age
